Even better than the prescription version, March 7, 2009 By This review is from: Nizoral AntiDandruff Shampoo, 7-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty) Actually, I have only used the 2% version of this product, also available here on Amazon. After suffering for ten years with misdiagnosis from a variety of doctors, it appears my scalp is getting well. I did some research of my own and learned most dandruff is caused by a fungus growth. Mine was particularly bad in a inch and a half diameter area at the crown of my head, just the perfect place to scratch and spread it. The doctors froze the skin with liquid nitrogen. Two patches were removed via surgery. It always came back. I wash my hair every day. Nothing worked until I used this product. It has taken about 10 months to cure my problem, but it seems to be nearly cured. Six months ago, I asked my doctor for a prescription shampoo to kill fungal infections. The prescription version has the same color and consistency as Nizoral. Finally I searched on the main ingredient and found a 2% version of Nizoral.
